He said that League 2 is a different competition and it is important that they players fight on the pitch if they want to secure promotion.

He believes that you need a winning mentality to survive in the lower tier of English football and the sooner the players understand this, the better it will be for the team.

Keith Curle said that playing in League 2 is more than just playing beautiful football. You need to fight for every ball and get physical at times if you want to win games.

He made this statement after Carlisle United poor run of form which saw them lost their four last games in a row. Their last games against Cambridge saw them beaten 3-0 twice in a row.

Keith Curle believes that this is more a mental problem than anything else. He believes that the players are struggling with the pressure of securing promotion and they are becoming nervous on the pitch. He feels that the same thing is happening with the fans and this is causing a negative atmosphere around the club.

Despite the poor run of form, Carlisle United is only four points from the third automatic promotion place, and Curle believes that there is still enough games left for the club to secure a place in League One.

Curle said that the opposition knows that Carlisle United is a good team and they will come here expecting a fight. It is important that Carlisle United players roll their sleeves and make sure they fight for every ball if they want to win games. He believes that sometimes it is important to win ugly if you want to win a trophy or promotion.
