The Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has said that the hunger of the players was one of the important reasons in helping the team win the match against Huddersfield town. Carlisle United were taking on Huddersfield town looking to get into the top half of the table, from where they can challenge for promotion spot. Even though they may be the outsiders to get promotion from the division, Greg Abbott has said that he is confident that his squad will continue the good work throughout the rest of the season. Carlisle United managed to come back from being a goal down to win the match 2-1 against Huddersfield town.
As result of this victory, the club now moves to the 12th position in the table. Huddersfield town managed to score first match, but the manager Greg Abbott has said that he did not stop his players from believing that they could easily win the match. As a result, they went on to score two goals in the remainder of the match to get the three points. Greg Abbott has said that it would have been easy for his players to allow their heads drop, but they did not do it and secured victory.
“We always felt we could be in the game at 1-0 and the energy and determination kept us going, it can see us though the season. The two centre-halves were outstanding. Steve Howard was a real problem and they coped to keep it at one. We asked the centre halves to be tough – they were. Peter Murphy went off with a cut forehead and, for his good looks it will upset him – for a centre half he is far too handsome,” said Greg Abbott after the match. Carlisle United will be facing Swindon town in the next match.
