The Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has said that his players should take the responsibility after suffering the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Tranmere Rovers in the second game of the season. Carlisle United are coming into the first home match of the season looking to get the first win under their belt. However, things did not go exactly according to plan after they were thrashed 3-0 at home by Tranmere Rovers. The opposition player Andy Robinson was a key figure in the match after he scored the hat-trick that destroyed Carlisle United. Greg Abbott has recognised that it was a bad performance from the players.

However, he has said that they still have the opportunity to show that they are good enough to fight for a place in the team by performing well in the upcoming matches. In order to do well in these matches, the players should show a lot of responsibility according to the manager. Greg Abbott has said that one of the reasons for the club conceding a lot of goals against Tranmere Rovers was the inability to keep possession in the key areas of the pitch. Due to the surrendering of possession in key areas of the pitch, Tranmere Rovers were able to score easily according to Greg Abbott.

“Hats off to the goals, but there is more to it than that. I will take my share of it, but these lads have to take responsibility. We need fight and better quality. The goals were fantastic, but we surrendered possession and played at a tempo bordering on testimonial match level,” said Greg Abbott after the match. The club will now be facing Portsmouth in the next match. Following this, they have encounters against Ipswich town and Milton Keynes Dons.
