Bolton Wanderers continued their impressive run of form in the last few weeks after they managed a 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers in the midweek action. This win helped the club rise to 14th in the table.
Even though the prospect of reaching the play-off positions still remains a distant dream, Bolton will at least be relieved that the threat of relegation has disappeared for now. It was only a few weeks ago that Bolton were in danger of being relegated to the third tier of English football, which would have been catastrophic for the club with more than £ 150 million in debt.
The three consecutive victories at the start of March seems to have done the trick for manager Dougie Freedman, as the club has been able to build on it since then. Since the 2-0 win over Watford towards the end of February, Bolton have suffered just one defeat in all competitions.
Freedman praised the mentality of the players to the australia holland odds site, and he says that it is almost impossible for the club to be dragged into relegation trouble once again this season.
One of the positive aspects for the club will be the form on the back. They have conceded very few goals in these last few matches and they can only build on the success.
“That result illustrates how far we’ve come. We showed great skill in defending, we were resolute and resistant and they all worked very hard. We didn’t play fantastically well today so huge credit has to be given to the lads. The mentality is a lot different to how it was our or five months ago when we would have possibly been beaten. Overall, I am very pleased for the group of players because it shows how far they have come,” said Freedman after the Doncaster Rovers win.
